I have to bump ahead here. I still am not caught up for this year, but I couldn't wait on this one. (I hope all of you at the family reunion are viewing these--I'm cramming for you!) I never imagined I would find myself in this spot so quickly! Do you remember when you got your first car? I sure do--it was a navy blue '65 Comet. I was so excited! I washed that thing, (even though it was so oxidized it didn't even look clean), waxed it. Spent hours with it--something you would think only guys do! I loved MY first car. Russ was the same way with his first car. Well, we got to experience this all again through Caley yesterday. Oh the excitement--and that's only after looking at many, many cars. Russ and I found ourselves wanting to help with armor-all, which we did until we were gently instructed by Caley to "Please stop, I don't like it on the door handles, I don't like to touch it." Even the smell of that stuff brought back so many memories! I don't use it on the van--I don't like it on the door handles, I don't like to touch it....hmmmm I wonder where she gets it?
Caley standing with her 1990 Geo Prizm with only 92,000 miles on it!
Now Hannah and Heather can "fight" over who gets to sit in the front of this one. I'm sure Caley will work out some kind of system, or Hannah will win because her legs are so long.
I have never seen this girl work as hard as she did to clean this car--something I'm sure all of you remember doing yourselves...
Very happy to be working...

Wow, It's hard to believe how fast they grow up, and I totally get the love the first car thing. Mine was a 74 Subaru that had a horrible habit of dying in the middle of intersections. But it was mine :) I found your blog through Anna, feel free to check mine out and let me know if I can add you to my list of Web stops.

Love all the new pictures! This comment is for all the others too! What a fun time! I loved the camping pics! I look forward to being able to do all those fun things when the kids get older...like hiking and riding bike without having to carry a lil one! :) I love the car pics too !! YAH for Caley! My first car was a red Toyota Celica '88! I LOVED it and it was called the Lil Red Bomber...because it was really loud the exhaust pipes needed to be replaced! But it was a fun car! Oh the good ol' days! :)
I hated my first car! But loved having the freedom :) My sister (you can ask her!) actually had it before me and ended up getting in a wreck. So of course when it's my turn to get the car there's a GIGANTIC dent in the side! It too would stall in the middle of the intersections and I remember one time on the Sprague hill! Oh the good times :)
